![]() In-video controls make for fast and easy channel changing. The Emby Live TV Guide helps you find what you're looking for quickly and easily. ![]() Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Emby for Android TV also uses the power of the server to help you find movies to watch for the first time or over and over. Genuinely curious as to why it behaves this way when the media is being "streamed" from the same source. It's pretty frustrating to search for something I want to watch on Emby which has such a nice interface, only to then have to use VLC to browse that same media and play it there. I know my setup isn't perfect, but it was running smoothly for the longest time and now it's back to what it used to be like when I had the crappy Fire TV. Onto my question: why is it that I'm experiencing this now even when everything is always on direct play, yet if I launch VLC, search for the same title on my NAS, it plays anything and everything absolutely flawlessly? I can throw 4K 30gb files at it and it doesn't skip a beat, yet if I launch Emby and try to play that same title, it just folds. The only thing the Fire TV app needs is music and I can put Kodi in the rearview mirror. The changes the Emby team have made with the server and Fire TV app are amazing and very welcome. Recently it keeps talking forever to buffer when I play most 1080p titles and even then it freezes every few seconds making it pretty any movie pretty much unwatchable. The only drawback with live TV is that it still take a few seconds for channels to load, but once playing all is flawless. Simply open the server dashboard, navigate to Live TV, then click Add underneath tuner devices. The one device I have connected via Ethernet is my NAS where I store all my media (Emby libraries)Įmby used to run very poorly when I had the server installed on my desktop PC and was running the client app on my old Fire TV in the living room. I have played the same videos on an Android TV and in my Android phone app and the stuttering does not occur. It's also not the codex as I originally thought it might be limited to HEVC videos but it also has happened with other video encodings. ![]() My speeds aren't the best but it's the fastest available in my area (50 Mbps down consistently) and it's fine for pretty much everything I have linked up to it. The quality of the video is not the cause as it has happened with 1080p as well as 480p videos. Emby seems to be having trouble syncing wi. As an aside, I had to use the other Apple TV in the house tonight (faulting one is a 2021 ATV 4K, one upstairs is a 2017 4K), and I had almost no issue browsing the Emby server (still set up on the one upstairs), which if I’m remembering correctly, the issue only started when I moved the loungeroom 2017 4K into the shed and bought a 2021 4K for the lounge. I've been using Emby for about a year or so now and have every device in my house connected wirelessly to my home network. On this tutorial I show issue I found with Emby media server and what to do so server record Live TV show in full.
